Lunar Violet is a gorgeous color

Daniel Smith watercolors are consistently beautiful, high quality paints. I have purchased lunar violet, lunar blue, genuine amethyst, serpentine, bloodstone, garnet, iridescent moonstone, duochrome violet, and titanium buff recently. They are all just really wonderful and the primatek and lunar colors are very unique and fun to work with. The only one I don’t really like is the moonstone, which just looks silver. It’s difficult to see the blue-purple sheen in most lighting.

Good paint

Good paint, but returned because the color was 'off' from the color shown in listing. This isn't Amazon's or seller's fault - all color charts are somewhat off true color. Daniel Smith makes a color dot card, and if you want to be more accurate in picking out colors to try, get it and swatch out the colors. It's the only way to know if you're seeing the true color of something when you've not used it before.

Used for painting underwater scene, I have used this brand, Daniel Smith, for a long, long time and it is the best.

Wonderful pigment.

I bought this product to use in my gum bichromate process, it was recommended and well worth paying the little extra for. It gives great tones and a hauntingly beautiful alternative to the black watercolour I use for this process.
