Worked great

I installed this on a 2015 Dodge Journey and it went together good. I did not have the short wire issue going to the passengers side that others had I had plenty of wire so I’m guessing they fixed that issue. Also used heat shrink connectors instead of the cheaper ones the kit came with. It’s all plug and play except for running the one power wire to a positive cable under the hood that goes to the battery. I went over the drivers side rear wheel well then followed the e-brake cable to the front then went to the center underneath the car and followed the brake lines up to my power source by the top drivers side wheel well. I used some Romex (house wires) as a fish wire. I also bought a cheap 4flat connector bracket from curt cut the one side off drilled 4 holes in it. I then drilled holes and cut a slot in the bottom side of the rear bumper and riveted it on. I put washers on the back side of the plastic bumper for the rivets that way they don’t just pull through the plastic. I attached some photos of that.

So heres the honest truth..

The short version : It does what it advertises and now i can plug lights into my 15 Journey. The longer version... Curt shit the bed on this one. This harness works if you have some savvy skills and arent a moron. There is one wire that runs from the driver sideover to the passenger side, its about 8-inches too short. This is easily fixed by splicing in a short jumper to get the length you need to plug in the connector to the light. Also... Whoever at CURT that decided it would be a good idea to use the absolute cheapest zip ties that they could find, i hope you stub your toe every morning on the bed frame. Again, easily fixed with just using other ties that i already had. So in conclusion, This harness will work if you do CURT's job for them and make it work. If youre the person installing it with your tool box that you keep in your wifes closet in the hallway, this probably isnt for you. If you have some sort of problem solving skills, it'll be just fine. My 6 yr old helped me with it and it was a great experience for her. not only did she learn how to work on a car, she also learned that sometimes what you buy isnt what you actually get. 4 Stars because it works, not 5 because of the issues above.

Works as expected

I recommend watching the UHAUL install video. It is better than the CURT video. The product description states "this 4-pole trailer lighting wire harness comes with a rubber dust cover". I did not receive the dust cover. I contacted Curt customer service about the missing part several weeks ago, but I have not received a response yet.

Take your time

To start with I do wiring on machinery so this wasn’t as daunting as it could have been. I installed this on a 2018 Journey GT. Instructions were good, wire length was more than adequate, connectors went together smoothly, overall satisfied. I did use different mounting tape as well as self drilling screws. The butt splices included are a bit large for the wire, but if you strip the wire longer and fold it over it takes up the extra space. After splicing tape over the area with electric tape. I also used split convoluted tubing to cover the wires from abrasion and over all neater appearance. I ran the power wire behind the inner plastic fender well and then inside the channel under the doors (plastic trim).. up along the brake lines and to the battery terminal. I took my time and used plenty of tie wraps. Power on and everything checks out good.

Decent quality kit

Everything plugged in and worked just like it should. It looks like Curt got the hint about the short green wire in other reviews, because I had about 10" of EXTRA wire for that, as well as plenty of extra black power wire. The connectors do seem a little cheap, but everything is working well so far. It would have been nice for Curt to include a stiffer fish wire with the kit for easier install, but most handy folks have one already or can use a wire coathanger like I did. Overall, not bad.

Not for beginner installation.

Like other have stated, this is not for first timers. If you are mechanically apt, this is a straight forward install. If you have trouble changing the time on your microwave or alarm clock, have someone else install this for you as it does take some understanding of how things work. That being said, I did not have the short wiring issue that other stated when going from the drivers side tail light to the passenger side tail light. In fact, I had extra wire. I ran the wire through the bumper reinforcement bar and it worked like a champ. It did take some time to get it fed through the bar. The rest was straight forward and reasonably easy to install.

Very simple no electrical knowledge really needed

Plug n play wiring harness does the job.

This wiring harness was straight forward to install. All connections are plug in connections at the rear tail light locations except for the one power wire which needs to be run to the front of the vehicle to connect to the positive terminal of the vehicle battery. The use of the supplied tie wraps, to secure the power wire to the undercarriage of the vehicle, ensures that the power wire will stay securely in place. Installation time was about 1.5 hours. The only negative comment I have about this wiring harness is that the green wiring connections that are feed from the drivers side tail light to the passenger side tail light should be about 6 inches longer to provide a little extra wiggle room for the attachment to the tail light connection. It was definitely a tight fit. Other than that one issue needing to be addressed by Curt Manufacturing I highly recommend this wiring harness.
