My Go-To Outdoor Pant

For hiking, I want a pant that repels water, dries quickly, and doesn’t inhibit motion. I also like a gathered ankle to help keep stuff out, an elastic waste so I’m not messing with buttons and zippers, and POCKETS. These pants check all those boxes. They are crazy comfortable, and layer well with my SmartWool base layer bottoms. They are also quiet - no swooshing noise. Bonus points awarded because my dog can climb all over me with dirty, wet feet and it doesn’t stick to the pants. I don’t know what kind of witchcraft goes into these britches, but well done. I’m 5’7, about 180, and wear a size 12/M pant. I got these in large so I could wear them comfortably with a base layer and it was almost a perfect fit. These pants were a tad big with the base layer, but still comfortable and what I’ll order again. UPDATE: I wore these kayaking and the water droplets from my paddle just rolled off the pants. My butt wasn't even wet when we got out (it usually is). My dog went with me and, again, the pants were spotless even after his muddy feet were all over me. I'm going to buy every color - these pants are fantastic.

Runs large

Runs very large. Normally a large, ordered a large- very loose and extremely baggy. Size down for sure Very light weight. These are not the “cutest” pair of outside pants but they get the job done working in the yard.
