Colombia sherpa jacket

Except for the extra long sleeves, may by 1/2 inch(don't know why), it fits me fine. Cozy and soft the way I wanted. If warm, I can unzip. most of my sweat shirts are hooded. That is why I wanted this change.

WARM!! ... (buy a smaller size than usual)

And I mean really WARM. So warm I have to be selective of when I wear it. That is NOT a complaint!! The collar is a bit stubborn in that it refuses to stay rolled back and down. Then again, my neck is not exposed, making it very WARM. I think you get the idea. It's warm! As other reviews said, it runs a size large, so order a size smaller than you normally would.

Perfect warm inner layer

Great for wearing inside your ski jacket for extra warmth. I just wish that is had a double ended zipper. The fog is perfect.

A nice improvement over the Steens Mountain v2

This entire review is based on how this Columbia Rugged Ridge Li jacket compares to the Columbia Steens Mountain jacket. (v1 and v2) I've had my Steens Mountain (v1.0 I guess) for a several years now. It is a very soft, comfortable, light weight jacket. I bought it as an under-layer for my heavy coat, but I ended up just wearing it on its own around the house on cold days. It has been washed dozens of times, and is starting to show some wear. So I bought the Steens Mountain v2, and it was a complete disappointment. For reference, you can tell them apart even in online images because the original version has the word "Columbia" stitched monogram style, while the new v2 version just has a sewn on Columbia tag. While they are both made of polyester, the old version felt almost like soft cotton, while the new feels like cheap polyester. The zipper feels cheap, almost like molded plastic. It was so bad I was convinced I had received a fake, so I sent it back and ordered one direct from Columbia. Unfortunately, it was the same way. Other reviews on the Steens Mountain v2 mirror my complaints. Essentially, they've kept the price of the Steens Mountain series roughly the same over the years, but increased their profit margin by significantly reducing the quality. Not ready to completely give up on Columbia, I decided to spend twice as much and try this Rugged Ridge Ii. It is closer to the quality of my original Steens Mountain, just a bit thicker and fuzzier. It lacks the lining on the inside lower. And it runs 1 size smaller than the Steens Mountain. I prefer the styling of the Steens, but I'm just wearing it around the house, so I don't care much. This is a very comfortable jacket, and I have no regrets about buying it. Hopefully it holds up as long as my old Steens Mountain v1, which I would buy again in a heartbeat. I would even be willing to pay as much for it. But I don't think the Steens Mountain v2 is worth buying at any price.

The receiver of the gift is pleased with this jacket. Sometimes can be a bit warm, but that is only based on what activity is being done.

Nice but sizing has changed

For the price the jacket is nice. I have noticed that Columbia has changed their sizing a bit. I purchased two different styles of fleece jacket in medium. Both were the same size as each other but compared to my fleece jackets from last year these new jackets are bigger over all. Not by much but longer in the torso by an 1 or 2 and the sleeves are longer by the same amount. So you might be able to size down with their new sizing.
