Great item easy to install

I purchased this lock to replace my fuel door lock, I find it much easier to open the door without having to unlock it. The lock looks great and it was fairly easy to instal. I have purchased several of these to replace them on my RV’s and they have always held up nicely, I recommend this lock/latch.

More practical than a cam lock that requires a key

This is a replacement of the original, which required a key. A screw backed out and I lost the original while traveling. It required a key to open, which was a nuisance. Why did I need to lock my outside shower? So I looked for one without a key. This is thumb operated which is why I purchased it. Easy to install. The thumb latch is a little bigger at the base so it is difficult to turn until it wears it's own path in the plastic lid. If that's understandable.

Took some bending to make it latch.

I bought this to replace the keyed cam on my RVs leveling system door. Fit right in the hole, but had to bend the tab a bit to get it to catch. Now I don't have to worry about losing the key and I doubt anyone will come "unlevel" my rig while I'm sleeping!

Curses!

I think this is a fine product. Sadly, it didn't work for me. Just so you don't make the same mistake, I'll tell you the goofy thing I did. I saw a couple of these listed on Amazon... one said 5/8" and one said 7/8". I measure my bad latch and it was 5/8" wide, so that's what I ordered. Then, when it arrived, it didn't stick through far enough to attach the backing nut! I now realize that the size referred to the LENGTH of the shaft, not the width, so I needed the longer one and now I have another week to wait before I can get the part to fix my hatch cover.

I ordered the wrong length, I never even thought of that, my fault. I ordered 5/8 should have been 7/8.
