Great quality

I was sad to have to return it because it's a beautiful and high quality piece of luggage. It rolls very smoothly and has some great compartments. It's also aesthetically pleased with the 2 toned stitching. I love how the front part opens up for easy access and all the extra features like the retractable luggage tag are really great. The only reason I returned it is because I really needed a carry on that I can fit my laptop in and my laptop was too big for the front pouch. It's pricey but I think it's worth it.

Super happy!

One thing I new was that this brand rarely goes on sale because of the high quality. I waited over a year and I finally saw one on here in "very good" used condition. It was $140 less and on inspection, it still has the original tags and does not look used at all. I'm extremely happy! I feel like I have my luggage for the next few years!

Smooth mover

Bought this for a 3 week trip to France and Spain - it was perfect! I had to edit what was packed, but managed to pack a few gifts to bring home, carried onto the plane with ease and was able to move between connecting flights with minimal effort. Indeed this costs more that my previous bag, and it was worth every penny - great value!

Splurge, you'll be glad you did.

I hesitated for weeks on buying this. I've never spent this much money on a suitcase. But since I travel internationally for a living, and I've decided to make the shift and solely travel with a carry-on, finally- I went for it, and I'm so glad I did. Great suitcase. Handles well and comfortably. I love that the extra room zipper goes across the middle rather than adding a couple of inches to one side of the bag as other suitcases do. And my favorite is that the bars for the handle are on the outside, so they don't take up space on the inside. This makes a big difference when you're packing for longer trips.

You get what you pay for

Yes, B&R luggage is very pricey. But the build quality is superior. We have two pieces of luggage and a backpack and I feel like we will never have to replace them.

Attractive bag, handle build quality subpar

I liked the looks of this bag. It rolls easily and has enough storage for a one-bag short business trip. Good places to store your laptop and equipment. However, after a half hour of rolling it through an airport concourse, the handle felt wobbly and insecure. This should not happen on a $500 bag. I returned it to purchase an "Away" hard side carryon with the built in battery. I've had B&R bags in the past and they lasted years. Not sure why the quality was lower on this one, perhaps they favored looks over substance.

Best luggage

This is my 4 or 5th piece of Briggs & Riley luggage I works for me. Right number of pockets ESP like the external handle Doesn’t take up room inside and very sturdy Never had one break yet. And best price I could find was on Amazon

Exceeds Canadian Carry On Limits when Filled

First off it is a extremely well made piece of luggage. I think it looks great and I love the design, including the various pockets. The handle is long and sold and the wheels are smooth. I really liked the design and the various front pockets the bad has. It was a selling point for me. It is a splurge item and that's fine - you can obviously get something as functional for a fraction of the price. But I liked it and didn't mind paying for it. The problem is that if the main compartment is even 3/4 full then putting almost anything in the other pockets will push it past the carry on limit. Perhaps that is the nature of a soft side - but I didn't have that issue with my now departed Victorinox Werx 21" soft side. In fact, the cubic volume for this bag is supposedly equal to my kids' much less expensive hard side carry-ons. If I fill one of those bags up to the max I know it will remain carry on complaint because it has structure. However, if I were to transfer the contents to the B&R it would be far too large to fit into the "luggage check" frame for Air Canada or Wesjet. So if you guy this bag - get a ruler and check before you go! For that reason I had to return it.
