Flicker. Features are good but can't get past the flicker.

These bulbs/fixtures must use some sort of pulse width modulation as they flicker, creating a very high-speed strobing effect. This is hard to see when you are not moving but if you move your hand through the light beam you get a strobing-trail-like effect from these fixtures. The color temp appears to be close to 4000K, perhaps slightly hotter but not bluish and the gimble and focus features work well. These fixtures also cast fairly sharp shadows from objects in the light path due to the focused (point-source-like) lens system. I used the (12 Volt - 60 watt) dimmable power supply recommend by the same manufacturer to drive the units, I tested with only one light attached to the power supply. Mainly due to the flicker I'm returning these bulbs, but I also found the sharp shadows somewhat problematic for my installation and I would have needed to increase the number of fixtures and thus compensate by dimming the lumen output on each fixture to reduce shadows. I found the 4000K was slightly hot for my installation as well, and the color temperature did not seem to get warmer when the bulbs were dimmed (which was something I was actually hoping for), so a 3000K option would have been preferred. In the end, if these lights had not suffered from flickering I would have kept them and found another project to use them on.
