It's not cheap or easy to earn

It's too early for me to review this product. I'm still watching videos on how to play the game. The rules are slightly less complex than those for the 1040 long form. I'm at the apprentice level and plan to start playing the core set next week. The game is well designed and clever, so I imagine I will enjoy it. Warning: You have to buy a second copy of the core set or do a lot of photocopying if you want to have more than two players. . The designers of this game are going to make millions. There already is a large corps of rabid fans of the game. Once they did template in the core set all they have to do is move the scenery around a little to get you to buy new scenarios that are issued regularly. I'm hoping to avoid bankruptcy by limiting my purchases, but I'm already off to a bad start.

An Atmosphereic Expansion

I've always loved horror stories and movies based in Louisiana, and this mini expansion for Arkham Horror LCG is no exception. All the art and story text lends to the New Orleans and Bayou atmosphere very well. I felt immersed in the hunt for this werewolf like character, and liked a lot of the little surprises along the way. I also enjoyed the fact that one set of locations doesn't get used at all, meaning you can replay this over again in the future. in some part, it even feels like you can come back to continue the hunt for the werewolf if you failed the first time. The one downside is that, because of the print on demand style, the cards aren't exactly the same size as the ones from the base game. So, when I wanted to keep the werewolf curse in my character deck throughout my campaign, I couldn't. Overall, it's a fun and inexpensive expansion to Arkham Horror that any fan would enjoy. It's also a good one-shot for people who are new to the game to try it out.

The natural first expansion to sink into

Just a ton more of everything you liked in the basic game. Improves on every level, with plenty of meaningful tactical choices to make. Great story, but you'll need to buy the 6 mythos packs to see how it ends. I played them all, solo and with friends, and they are excellent.

Fun expansion for Cthulhu card game

This looks like it will be a fun expansion to start diving into once the storyline from the core box set is finished. I love the ease with which you can, essentially, drive your own story narrative by adding in the various expansions for this game.

Overall good but bad storage

The box is even smaller than the core box and almost useless to store your cards. You will have access to additional 5 investigators with 20 plus player cards to add to your deck building. Overall, less value for money compared to the core game as you really need to buy the mythos packs for better cards and overall experience.

Steep learning curve, poor instructions, crappy packaging

The premise is really interesting and there is a huge community out there if you are passionate about this; which is great. I’ve read most of H.P. Lovecraft’s works and enjoy the setting. However, there is a really steep learning curve to this game. I grew up playing D&D (multiple editions), MtG, Video Games, Risk, etc...and I found the instructions to be very anemic and unhelpful. I had to watch several YouTube videos and join a FaceBook group to really figure it out. That alone makes me not want to play past the first scenario. I also think, for what you pay, the packaging storage could be much better. There a lot of little pieces and they make poor use of the box space to meaningfully store them. Sadly, we bought an expansion when we purchased the main game and I doubt it will see use.

Best expansion for the card game

I own several expansions for this game. This is by far my favorite. if I were new to the game and looking to buy my first expansion this would be the one. I love the setting of this one and the story. The new investigators and cards are cool too.

Amazing! What can I say

Amazing! What can I say.. this game has got myself and a friend totally addicted. Both our first go at any type of game like this. We have just recently completed the first three scenarios(Core set) of the game and had to continue our adventures/investigations. From scenario to scenario the game feels new, different and exciting. Aside from the 2 player game, I've recently started a solo campaign and can honestly say it's just as good as playing with a buddy.
