Great game

I first played this game with my grandkids in Ohio and we had so much fun. You never know what the next move will put you on the game board. There are north ples that you could land on and it can take you either up or back on the board. The swat places can bring a ton of giggles depending on how many are playing. There are four different characters you can pick-Rudolph, Cornelis, Abonnable Snowman and I can’t remember the last one. We played the game four times in a row. It is a great game to play anytime of the year. Very heavy duty play board which is nicely decorated as well. Easy enough for little kids to catch on fast but still challenging. Would definitely recommend.

Who knew Reindeer Games could be so mean (besides Rudolph)?

Sadistic gameplay is why the 5 stars. The game pieces were unusable as the cardboard characters did not stay in plastic holders. We used smaller ornaments off the tree. Which was more fun anyway (think the battle over which monopoly piece you get), plus the game only came with 4 pieces and we had 5 players. The game play instructions were clear enough I guess, but seemed complicated. Just like with most games, you figure it out as you start to play. Not quite sure if we figured it out correctly, but we had fun with what we came up with. The game shares elements of “Chutes and Ladders” coupled with “Sorry.” The “Rudolph and Hermy” cards add some fun and unpredictability. We had fun reading each card out loud (and imaging the poor soul that was hired to write these). The “Reindeer Games” element is as cruel as the bullies that didn’t let Rudolph play. Even if you thought you won, Reindeer Games can take it all away. Bought the game based on nostalgia of the characters. Wish it had monopoly-style game pieces- and more than just 4. Played this with my sister and her 3 boys (ages 15+). Had a great time with the frequent lead changes. It’s that “Sorry” (not sorry) element of gameplay that will make this a new Christmas tradition.

Fun Game

The game is fun to play to get into the Christmas spirit. The board is thick and sturdy, too. My only criticism is that the playing tokens are poorly made. Each player chooses one of four characters - the characters are printed on quality cardboard and the images are great. The plastic holder that they go in leave a lot to be desired. The cards keep falling out of the plastic holder making game play beyond frustrating. We ended up supergluing the cards into the holders and hopefully that solves the problem. In the meantime, we used candy land tokens to play. For almost $20 the playing tokens should be a better design.

Great gift for young children.

This is an interesting spin off for a candy-land type game. Be prepared to be frustrated however as the kids never fail to get just the right combination to win nearly every time.

So-so

The pieces kept falling out of the base. Had to add scotch tape to the bottom to make them thicker to stay in the base. Not made very well. Not worth the money I spent but my daughter loves Rudolph so I had to keep it.

Great for 4 year olds +

I read reviews before purchasing and was left with a mixed overall review. I'm glad I took the chance. The concept of the game is similar to snakes and ladders, a few extras like the ability to swap places with other players. Very simple for little ones to play, you just need one person who can read cards. My 4 year old loves it and how can you go wrong with the Rudolph theme? We'll likely play it year round. It's decent for adults as well! (Just not much strategy needed)
