Beautiful, sturdy and smelly

I ordered this luggage set in February and (as many reviews on other sites state) the luggage has a very strong chemical smell. I knew I wanted to use the medium sized roller bag for my June trip so I did everything I could to air it out. Opened it up and left it in the sun, spent a half hour hitting all the plastic parts with a hair dryer to try and "off gas" it, stuffing it with news papers, putting boxes of baking soda inside, I even tried lining it with odor eater shoe insoles, the smell softened but never really went away. When it was finally time for my trip I just tucked am Arm & Hammer diarper pail freshener between the plastic back frame of the bag and the zip liner and then packed away. Thankfully none of my possessions smelled like the plastic during my trip. The bag easily withstood the Ohio to California round trip, with a plane change in both directions. It actually sat outside in the blazing sun and then a quick downpour during an agonizing seven hour delay in Denver. When I finally retrieved my bag once back at my home airport the bag looked a totally different color, no longer the beautiful red. The contents inside were damp but luckily my camera was dry and still working. The bag has dried nicely and looks no worse for the ware. The doctors bag is a hideous and awkward shape and I don't intend to ever use it but the roller bags are great, seem sturdy and roll nicely but you really do need to plan well enough ahead to allow some time to air out, the plastic chemical smell is overpowering. My only other note is that the smallest roller bag is an inch to wide to meet some of the airlines new carry on bag rules (but my personal opinion is that bringing a carry on that doesn't fit under you seat is beyond rude and it slows everyone down and causes some with tight connections to miss their flights. Not to mention you really don't need to access any of that crap while you are on the plane, and if you can't afford to check you bag should you really be traveling?)

It's Okay

I didn't notice until it arrived that the cases only have 2 wheels (I really like them to have 4 each) ... With only 2 wheels they don't sit upright straight and can only be rolled when tipped to pull .... But ... they are roomy and easily identified at the airport when watching for your baggage ... Unknown yet if durable (but seem basically well made) ... I like the Sizes (except for the Medicine Bag ... it seems awkwardly huge and hard to carry ....

Good value, but lining not as pictured

I like this luggage. I get a lot of compliments on it, especially from flight attendants. I wanted something that would stand out on luggage carousels and match my outfits. I haven't so far had any issues with mechanics, smell, or sturdiness. Overall I am very happy with this set. The lining of my set is not as pictured. It is black instead of tan. It looks good, but so many of my clothes and electronics etc. are black that I really wanted a light background for easier visibility/less rooting around to make sure it really is empty.

These are nice looking bags, but not top quality. The zippers stick as they move, and the one handle on the doctor's bag was defective. I kept them because I needed them for a last minute trip, otherwise, for the price I would have returned them.

The Bag is good in looks BUT the quality is not good.All of the three bags with wheels were making noise while rolling (even on soft carpet)....i can not imagine how noisy it will be on hard surface off course!!!. I was definitely looking for classy looking luggage for my upcoming 30 days trip but the quality of the luggage matters much more than just beauty for obvious reasons.

THUMBS DOWN !!! GETS WATERLOGGED

THUMBS DOWN !!!! I purchased this set in Metallic Red. The airline that I travelled allowed the luggage to sit out in heavy rains for a short period of time. I thought luggage should be waterproof/resistant as well as practical. The cases that should have been red when wet were an ugly, horrible dark brown. Some of my clothing in the case was damp and other items were soaked and smelled dank. This luggage does not warrant or deserve any stars for purpose or practicality, but only for its beautiful looks. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
