When we purchased our home, it had been given the infamous “landlord special” paint job, and while we were glad for the fresh coat of paint, the painting over of the light switches and plates was super tacky. We finally redid our bathroom, and these wall plates were the perfect touch. They are just as gorgeous as the photo. Now if we can just figure out how to get the layers of paint off of the actual light switches…

Perfectly ridiculously showy and just right

This switch plate was made to install where there isn’t a lot of light. It’s very easy to find because of the mirror-like base but resistant to fingerprints because of the filigree overlay. It looks great in the shadowy side foyer of my old house, where the previous switch plate cover just got lost and no one could find it. The least bit of light from another room makes it stand out and easy to find. Not for everyone, this florid accessory reminiscent of rooms full of red flocked wallpaper, purple shag carpet and black velvet paintings of bull fights, but in the right place it’s a gosh dern miracle. Oh and it’s well made and easy to install. I bought this item more than once and love it.
