Long lasting

Well balanced, no wobble & wears at least 10x greater than Powertec equivalent. Have broken & disposed of all my Powertec wheels as to dangerous so I can never use them again. Powertec is just more useless Chinese crap for the fast dollar.

GC80 Bench Grinding Wheel

The package was delivered on time and in good shape. Unfortunately I had a terrible time trying to balance this wheel. When I first received the wheel, I installed it onto the table top twin arbor grinder without initial balancing... mistake. The first hint of trouble was that my grinder has a 5/8" arbor, the wheel is 1", this is typical for a 8" wheel; the first problem was with the plastic inserts that comes with the wheel shimming it up from the 5/8" shaft to the 1" hole in the wheel. These inserts are inadequate, less than precise and felt flimsy. I upgraded to a precision 5/8" x 1" metal busing, but the wheel still produced large amounts of wobble and extreme vibration (almost a rattle) at full speed. I then obtained a balancing tool and attempted to get this puppy installed and running. Could NOT balance the wheel. After investing in the wheel, the bushing and the balancer and a week of frustration, the wheel was returned to Amazon, no questions. I ordered and received a Norton wheel from Amazon overnight, in 10 minutes had it balanced and installed without grief. Grinder now runs smooth, wheel performs as intended.
