A great pre boil set of tools

I am torn on my rate here. I use the paddle pre-boil to stir in dry malt extract after soaking grains at 150 degrees (I have yet to use the spoon). The paddle works just as I need it to for the job..... But if you get much higher in temperature, it starts to bend from the temperature. I use a stainless steel spoon during a boil. If you use them pre-boil they are a great device. If you are actually trying to use them in a boil situation, they are going to fail very quickly. I give a 5 star for my usage pre boil. But would not recommend them after 150 degrees much less 212 for actually trying to stir wort in a boil situation. I do not do any all grain brewing. They very well be very useful in that, as the temperature as well doesn't get much hotter then that pre-boil.

Long Handle

The long-handle spoon is used in our wine production. The spatula came with it so we figured we could use it for something. Seeing the handle is so long, it's not quite as "strong" as a spoon we have currently but it will work just fine. We also use both for mixing lemonade & special drink mixtures in 1.5 gallon jugs. Works really well for that! Yum!

But it's durable and right amount of thickness. It's plastic but good quality.

Very Flimsy

I ordered a set of these about a year and a half ago. They were great. I just ordered a new set and they were very different - much less rigid that the previous ones. Both of them bend when you stir - the previous ones didn't. They were made of a much stronger, firmer plastic. Would not recommend these new ones. I returned them.

Good for the most part

For the most part it's good, the spoon arrived with a decent curve in the handle but I'm still able to use it, I echo the other reviews there not the sturdyest guys and I wouldn't use them with anything hotter then 100 deg F. But there plastic so I don't have to worry about scratching up my plastic brew buckets or carboys like with metal ones so they work for me.

Sturdy and long enough!

Works exactly for what i need it too. Long enough I'm not losing it in a six gallon bucket
